The Beehive Design Collective at the Croft Gallery today

We are lucky to have this amazing gallery in Waco. Here is another exceptional exhibition:

Come check out the Beehive Design Collective's collection of large format drawings at the Croft Gallery on Saturday, March 26th from 12-6pm only. The Beehive Collective is a group of visually oriented activists from Maine; their images address the pros and cons of developments in renewable energy. An informative presentation will be put on by Beehive members. Details forthcoming!

"The Hive's adventures since the year 2000 have helped to confirm that images are an extremely powerful medium for conveying ideas to diverse audiences, across boundaries of language, age, knowledge levels, and learning styles. The overwhelming success of our graphics campaigns testify to the ability of visual tools for conveying ideas in powerful, effective ways unavailable to other forms of communication."

Baylor Student & Faculty Exhibiton & Artist Jean Shin's visit

The Martin Museum of Art at Baylor University will feature the annual Baylor Art Student Exhibition beginning March 24th and running through April 12th.
Sherry Owens, a native Texas artist who lives and works in Dallas, juried the student artwork. and selected works from a pool of more than 200 entries. A reception and awards ceremonywas held on March 24th, from 6:00-8:00pm. Eight awards for excellence were given for outstanding work in different media.

Jean Shin's two days at Baylor were electrifying! She spoke about her work and experience of establishing herself as an artist in NYC, starting with her "day job" to support herself and her work, now receiving commissions from around the world. The beauty of her work and complex, intense approach to her subjects reveals levels of meaning and content for everyone who sees it and considers it.

I hope you'll visit the website and better yet, have an opportunity to see her installations.

Artist Jean Shin TONIGHT at 7pm

Tonight is Ms. Jean Shin’s Allbritton Art Institute Lecture at 7pm in ART149. Ms. Shin’s installations of recycled and discarded objects should be interesting to all.

A public reception follows the lecture (~8:15pm) in the student lounge/atrium area just outside room 149. I’ve placed a few articles on Ms. Shin in the front office of 136. Her website is edifying:
